convert 8bit to 16bit unicode
  • an interesting 10 year old artefact based on Caché
  • so no docker, no IRIS, no ZPM
  • at that time 8bit national character sets were widespread
  • The common 8 Bit ASCII core was never an issue
  • The challenges were all "specials" spread over several ISO-Latin-*
  • Not to mention NON-Lating character sets.
  • The package shows one possible solution
